Our Services

Post Straightener is a new company with our first machine patented in 2016. The concept and design however has been in the making for the past eight years.

In order of introduction I am Daryl Irving and business partner is Dan Robinson. We have both worked on the land for many years contracting and managing farms. I came up with the idea for a post straightener about eight years ago after spending a day straightening posts under the tray of a ute and over the tow ball – a chore well known to every farmer!

With sore hands, shoulders and a bad back I thought there has to be an easier way! I sat down (with a few coldies) and the idea was first formulated. We started in the shed with welder and scrap steel and fiddled around until the machine came to fruition. We are now working with a major engineering company to improve and develop the machine further. I’m very proud how the machine functions: it is extremely strong and can straighten up to 1000 posts in one day. So far we have straightened over 500,000 posts.

SAVE MONEY

Using our service will save you money by recycling posts you already have at a fraction of the price of new posts. We come to you and don’t charge a travelling fee. We will also clean up those unsightly piles of useless twisted metal for you. Furthermore, older posts are of much higher quality than the new ones being made which are .6 kilograms lighter than the old posts. New posts can cost up to $16.00 whereas we can straighten up to 1,000 posts in one day at $3.00 per post.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

Our machines use a relatively small amount of energy to recycle quality old posts, eliminating the need to mine and manufacture new ones. Also once we have sorted, repaired and bundled your posts, you can send all your scraps and broken posts to your nearest steel recycling centre, leaving your “post pile” neat and tidy.

TRAVELLING

Part of our job involves a great deal of travelling. We enjoy this aspect very much as we get to see the country and meet new and interesting people along the way, some of whom have become great friends. We look forward to sitting around the fire with you after a long day, telling yarns and enjoying a few beers. This makes the job even more rewarding.

SELF-SUFFICIENT

We often get asked: “What do you need us to do?” The quick answer is nothing other than point us in the right direction. We travel with everything that we might need. We come with all the fuel and tools needed for the job. If it’s a big job and we need to camp, we will bring all the bedding, food and refreshments that we will need. But if you have dongas or a shed and a shower handy, we will graciously accept your offer!
